Kaleel Sakakeeny
Founder & CEO

Rev. Kaleel is one of the country's few ordained Animal Chaplains, nondenominational Pastoral Counselors and Credentialed Pet Loss and Grief Counselors. His work in the field of Loss and Grief, especially Pet Loss and Grief, has earned him recognition from The Washington Post, People Magazine, New York Times and other media. He is a thought leader in the emerging field of the animal-human bond studies, and a practicing therapist.

Thembela Makhuba
Pet Grief Specialist &
Associate Director
With a background in brand and social media work, Thembela holds space for our healing circles with steady, patient care, co-facilitates the Pet Grief Specialist Certification classes, and coordinates the events that bring our community together. She also helps carry Animal Talks' voice on social media, welcoming more grieving pet parents into our circle.

Director of Partnerships and Growth
Kaitlyn comes to Animal Talks with a background in nonprofit services, and a career building meaningful relationships through technology and community outreach. Through collaboration and partnerships, she's always looking to grow what's possible together with anyone who shares our commitment to supporting people through pet loss.
